College And University Usually colleges have their own guidelines when it comes to college essay for admission or personal statements. It depends on what the actual college requires. You should consider that the colleges look at more than just college essays for admission statements; they look at your grades, GPA, class standing, extracurricular activities, and school service before they admit you. I would find out what the actual requirements are and base your statement on that.
I’ve heard more than one admissions representative stress, “the personal statement is NOT an essay,” but every time it seems like they’re just trying to keep you from stressing out about it.
That said, practically by definition, the personal statement is basically just another college application essay anyway.
Think of it this way. The common college essay writing is basically a personal statement, apart from they give you 5 prompts to choose from incase you’re drawing a blank and don’t want to make one up yourself. On the common college admission essay, if you choose one of the prompts, you have to respond to the prompt. If you make up your own prompt, it’s basically a personal statement.
Most colleges don’t have you write both. I don’t think any of the colleges on my list that use the common college application essays ask for a personal statement.
This response was kind of unclear because there’s no genuine and clear difference. On the personal statement, they’re asking you to give an angle of yourself that the college admission essays don’t provide. You should do the exact same thing on the common app essay.
If you have to write both (College entrance essay and personal statement) for the same college, try writing your common app essay on part of your life, and write your personal statement about you personally.
Again, there’s no clear difference. You should provide an interesting take on your life in both.

What to Write;

Look for a niche, something new that hasn’t been previously published or puts a new twist on a subject.
Your Title;
Your title should be directly related to your books subject. It should be “catchy” but subject related. For instance, if your book is about your dog spot, a title such as, “Spot on the Rug,” might make your reader believe tour book’s about carpet cleaning. So make your title obvious to what the book is about. Titles should be not more than 3 to 5 words and use your sub-title to explain what your book will include. Outline and Write;
Every manuscript contains an introduction, information, and conclusion, in other words, a beginning, middle, and ending. To start, define each of these categories in relation to your book idea. For instance, a non-fiction book on stress relief may begin with “what is stress.” The middle text may explain “how to relieve stress.” The ending may finish with “now that you are stress free…”
For a fiction book, the beginning may open by developing your characters and their place within your story. The middle is your story line or plot, and the ending is where your story concludes.
Once you have established these elements to your book, you can begin filling in the chapter titles according to the order of your stories events. Choose titles which are clear and define the content of that particular chapter; especially for non-fiction books. Compile your chapters and organize them in a logical order.

When you are looking towards writing a personal experience essay, the first thing you want to be thinking about is the subject of that particular essay. When you are writing about your personal experiences it can sometimes, well most times, be awkward to write down and communicate, onto paper, the experiences that you have had. Maybe it is about you getting over your fear of heights whilst on holiday; you will then look at some previously conducted research that analyses why people have such a fear, and how they overcome it.
Just because it is a personal experience essay, it does not mean that you should not consult previously researched material and academic sources.
