Write Articles Faster With This 5 Step Article Writing Process

Posted by on Jan 25, 2010 in Internet
Steve Shaw asked:

If you’re doing article marketing for any length of time you’ll find that you’re doing a lot of writing, writing, and more writing!

After a while you start to wonder, “Is there an easier, faster way to write articles?”

I think there is.

The goal is to write an article of excellent quality with minimal time and effort. Coming up with a standard writing process that you’ll use each time is very helpful at side railing procrastination and jump starting the writing process.

Here’s an effective writing method that I use that will help you write articles more efficiently:

1) What will your article be about?

I encourage you to think about writing articles that teach your target market something. The free reprint articles used in article marketing are educational articles (rather than sales pitches).

So, when you’re trying to think of an article topic, think in terms of teaching. ‘How to’ articles are great, and so are ‘Top Tips’ articles.

You might ask yourself, “What are the top 10 questions that customers frequently ask me?”

Or, “What are the top 10 areas of misunderstanding or problems that customers ask me about?”

From there, you’ll likely be able to pick out an area that should be covered in an article. If you’ve come up with 10 ideas, then each idea can become a separate article.

2) Make your notes.

After you’ve determined your topic, start writing notes on the points you’ll cover in your article.

These are just quick, brief notes–no need to try to craft an amazing sentence or paragraph (you’ll be doing that later).

What are the points you need to cover?

How many points do you have?

Is this topic generating too many valuable points to cover in the space of one article?

If so, you can always save some of the points for another article.

Note: If you do create 2 or more articles out of this same topic, please resist the urge to title your articles Part 1 and Part 2. Each article needs to be able to stand on its own, as a reader won’t necessarily be seeing all of your articles–they may be seeing just one of your articles. So, you shouldn’t mention Part 1, etc or say in your article body “This is Part 1 of my 3 part series”. Just treat each article as if it were your only article, so that it makes sense even if a reader stumbles across just that article.

3) Organize the order of your article.

After you’ve got all the major points you’d like to cover jotted down in note form, it’s time to get them in order.

If you’re doing a Top Tips article, then you might try the strategy of including 2 of your strongest tips as the first two items in your list, and one other of your strongest tips as your final item in your list. This is a little trick for leading readers through you article–by starting off strong you lure them into the body of your article. By finishing strong you lure them into reading your resource box (and leave them with a positive impression).

4) Create a rough draft.

After you’ve got your list of the points you’d like to cover and all the points arranged in the proper order–write!

Don’t over think things. This is your first draft, and you’ll have time later to polish things up. Right now you’re fleshing out your content and seeing how much valuable information you can provide in the limited word count of the article.

I always shoot for a 700-800 word article because articles of that size are most attractive to ezine publishers. That’s also long enough for a decent amount of information to be conveyed.

After your first draft is complete, take a word count and make adjustments as necessary.

5) Step away from your article.

Yes, that’s right–I know you’re eager to submit it, but patience has it’s rewards.

Put the article away for at least 24 hours and then read it over with fresh eyes. By giving your mind a break from the article, you’re better able to see any errors or awkward phrasing.

Make your edits, and then you’re ready to submit!

It may sound like extra work to do all this pre-arranging, but believe me it cuts down on the overall writing and editing time. This is how professional writers work–why not learn from the pros? By following a writing process such as this one, you’ll save yourself time, and you’ll produce quality articles more quickly.

"the Reason One Writes Isn’t the Fact He Wants to Say Something. He Writes Because He Has Something to Say" -

tatar job asked:

A lot of people over the years have asked me “Why do you write?” I used to simply reply with “I write because it is just something I do… Why do I write? Well why do you breath?” Then one day, I got thinking. Why do I write? What sense of pleasure do I derive from it? I came up with a few reasons WHY I write and WHY everyone should at least attempt to write, even if the quality turns out to be not so good.

I have found that writing keeps me sane. Through tough times writing has been my rock. It has given me a medium to express myself. Writing is unique and different for everyone and people write in different ways. Some people write poems that rhyme, some write poems that don’t. Some write stories, some write simple sentences. Some people write music, others write songs. Some people write their feelings, and some people write about nothing in relevance at all. But still, we write.

Expressing yourself in any way is a good thing. The arts are very helpful for this. Through an art we can tell a story, we can SHOW people what we want to tell them. Writing is my art, It helps me express who I am. I find it hard to talk about my feelings face to face with someone but give me a pen and paper and I can turn my inner most feelings into words, transform them into something that they will understand. Through a pen I’ve got my voice.

The great thing about writing is that anyone can do it, regardless of culture, language, native tongue. We don’t even have to show what we write to anybody, but seeing something on paper can help to organise our thoughts.

When I was very young A wise person told me that if I was ever really mad at someone, before I act I should write it down. I should write how I feel and why I feel that way. Then once you’ve vented all your negitive thoughts onto paper you will feel much better. You find that you were irrationally mad or ticked off and there won’t be any tention because you didn’t march right over there and give that person a peice of your mind. You simply wrote down how you felt

This peice of advice has been helpful to me, because many times I have rushed to conclusions and in retrospect, I see that the fault was my own.

 ,.

All of famous quotes have come from someones free thoughts. Martin Luther-Kings “I have a dream”, William Shakespeares “All the worlds a stage” , Einstiens “Theory of reletivity” and even that cute quote whos author remain anonymous. All great things are born of someones free thought.

So, to answer the question, “Why do I write?” I write to be freed. I write to clear my mind. I write to have my say. I write to express myself. I write, because it makes me happy.

I think that everyone should try to give writing a go. It doesn’t have to be good, and it doesn’t have to rhyme, just write your feelings, express yourself. Let yourself go, free your inhibitions and you might surprise yourself with what you can come up with.

I’ll leave you now, with one of my favourite quotes:

Selecting A Topic For Your Term Paper

Posted by on Nov 4, 2009 in Economic Downturn
UniversiTIP Term Papers And Essays asked:

Now that you have started on your quest for writing a term paper, remember, selecting the right topic goes a long way in bringing out the best term paper. If you have the opportunity of selecting your own topic and are not restricted by your teachers, then try and decide on your topic based on a few important considerations in mind.

The most important thing is that you need to be passionate about the subject you are trying to write about and you should be able to easily comprehend the topic. Unless these are in place, your quest to write the term paper will be very monotonous and you will not be able to churn out a good paper.

Once you have broadly broached the subject and kind of narrowed down on your choices for selecting the topics, you need to analyze the specifications of your term paper and see which among your choices meet them best.

After you have done this, before you conclude that this would be the topic for you to write your term paper, do a quick research as to the kind of background material there is on this topic from all available sources such as your text books, the library and on the Internet.

This is very vital because you should not get stuck up after you start off writing on the topic and make you stop halfway. This may leave you stranded and your efforts may go in vain.

Once all your research is complete, make a rough draft of your efforts in the direction you have taken and approach and discuss your teacher and seek guidance as to whether the path you have taken will help in bringing out a good term paper. This discussion with your teacher will further add light to how your term paper will turn out and help you generate more ideas regarding the same.

Selecting a good topic for the term paper is a key step to start and needs you to put in a lot of time and attention to it. Once you have done this and a good system is in place it goes a long way in bringing out the best in you.

Important:

Writing a term paper is not possible unless you properly research and gather adequate information about the subject you want to write upon. As you need to put in a lot of time and effort into the process, it is better if you start off with your assignment as early as possible and not postponing it to the eleventh hour. As the saying “the early bird gets the worm” starting off early will keep you prepared and help you in attaining your goal of writing a wonderful term paper.

One last tip:

Do not be afraid to ask questions. It is better to know exactly what you are doing or not. Discuss the project with your classmates. You would be surprised how someone else has a different perspective and can answer some questions for you and give you ideas.
